Demonstrates knowledge of various aspects of forest management

Demonstrates knowledge of technical components of forest management such as managing water flow, maintain forest health, habitat protection, erosion control, eco-tourism, protection of endangered species and sustainable development

Demonstrates knowledge of legal and regulatory provisions that dictate/influence the management of forests such as Forest (Conservation) Act 1980 and National Forest Policy, 1988.

Demonstrates knowledge of various existing and emerging tools and technologies that can be used for the management of forests such as IoT, satellite imaging, surveillance technology etc.

Contributes to designing forest management programs

Identifies key stakeholders of the forest such as local communities and businesses

Identifies the processes that need to be laid down to ensure compliance with generally accepted guidelines such as those given in the Joint Forest Management Programme

Demonstrate proficiency in tools and technology required to carry out forest management programs successfully

Designs and executes forest management programs

Addresses specific needs of stakeholders through public education campaigns, active conflict resolution, facilitating dialogue, etc.

Formulates and implements processes to comply with accepted guidelines such as those given by the Joint Forest Management Programme

Enforces laws and rules associated with the protection of forest resources such as anti-poaching and those concerning illegal trading of timbre

Integrates latest technology and tools into the execution of forest management projects

Evaluates Forest Management programs

Contributes to studies that are designed to evaluate the impact of forest management programs on the wellbeing of associated stakeholders especially vulnerable communities

Evaluates outcomes against those of globally stipulated sustainable forest management practices

Assess technologies deployed as a part of forest management projects using techniques such as Cost Benefit Analysis

Champions forest management policy and research

Champions forest management policy at the national and/or state level

Encourages research on existing and emerging topics associated with forest management such as role of forests in climate change mitigation (REDD+) and environmental justice

Oversees development of technological solutions which can be deployed to improve the effectivenes of forest management programs as a Subject Matter Expert
